Who this track is for
Apprentices, career starters, career changers and juniors in their first years on the job. Ideal as a shared start for a trainee cohort, no AI experience required.
Who it is not for
Not for experienced professionals who want to speed up existing workflows, they start with Working Safely and Productively with AI (AI-WORK). Not a substitute for professional training itself.
Starting situation
Career starters often already use AI, but quietly and unchecked: the assistant explains the term, suggests the answer, and it sounds good. Whether it is correct is exactly what a beginner cannot yet judge. That is where either a dangerous shortcut or, with guidance, a real learning accelerator begins.
This exists after the track
- A personal learning routine: have it explained, ask back, check the source, explain it yourself
- A practised feel for uncertainty: recognising when an answer only sounds plausible
- A clear rule for when to involve an experienced colleague
- A self-completed synthetic practice case with a documented check
- Your organisation's data rules applied to your own workplace
Prerequisites
None. A laptop with a browser is enough. The track deliberately assumes no prior AI experience.
Preparation before the track
Before the day, collect three terms or tasks from your daily work that you cannot yet explain confidently. These cases become your practice material in the afternoon.

Agenda
What AI can do and where answers come from
How it works, in understandable images: language models produce plausible continuations, not verified truths. First exercise: ask the same question three times and explain the differences.
Having tasks explained, properly
A technical term, a process, an error message: how to request an explanation that matches your level, and which follow-up questions make the explanation testable.
Checking sources instead of believing
Exercise on prepared outputs: which statement has a verifiable source, which one only sounds like it? Every participant finds at least one built-in plausible false statement.
Data rules at your own workplace
What may go into which AI: case cards with typical situations from training and early career. Customer data, internal documents, your own notes. House rules become concrete instead of abstract.
Your own practice case
Everyone works on a term or task they brought along using the routine: have it explained, ask back, check the source, document understanding. Peer exchange in pairs.
Explaining it yourself, without AI
The litmus test: everyone explains their case in their own words to the small group. Whatever still wobbles becomes visible and gets a concrete learning task.
Escalation and next step
When an experienced person must step in: writing down your personal boundary. Everyone leaves with a learning-routine card and a concrete next practice step.
Exercises and lab share
Around two thirds of the day is your own practice on synthetic cases and the terms you brought along, including the closing round where everyone explains their case without AI.
Platforms
Delivered with the AI tool approved in your organisation, in whichever version is available. On request we provide practice access on our lab environment, in which case only synthetic practice data is used.
Transfer evidence
You pass if you can explain your practice case in your own words at the end and have demonstrably applied the check routine to it. The result is recorded in the training records.

Boundaries
The track does not replace professional training and grants no permissions. AI helps with learning, the approval for changes to real systems stays with the responsible person.
Frequently asked questions
Our apprentices already use ChatGPT privately. Is that not enough?
Private use practises exactly the wrong thing: adopting quick answers without checking them. The track turns that around. AI remains the tool, but the check routine and explaining things yourself turn the shortcut into a learning path.
Is this day not too early in the first year?
No, quite the opposite. Habits form in the first months. Someone who asks back, checks sources and knows their limits from the start learns faster and more safely than someone who has to unlearn bad habits later.
Can trainers or team leads take part?
Yes, one or two accompanying trainers per group are expressly welcome. They experience the learning routine first-hand and can ask for it in daily work afterwards. For the leadership perspective, Leading Teams with AI (AI-LEAD) is the follow-up.
